Denmark hosted another spectacular challenge of the Gravel Earth Series

Stunning Danish scenery impressed all cyclists attending the Nordic GRVL Grinder

The Nordic GRVL Grinder, a cornerstone event in the prestigious Gravel Earth Series, took place on Saturday, August 31st, delivering a remarkable day of racing in Denmark’s stunning natural landscapes. As part of the Gravel Earth Series, this race offered a unique challenge and an unforgettable experience for all participants, including the winners Klara Sofie Skovgard and Jordan Habets.

The event featured three different course options, but only the 200-kilometer route with 1,700 meters of elevation gain was eligible for Gravel Earth Series points. The course presented a balanced mix of gravel, paths, and asphalt, designed to test endurance over technical skill. Participants were treated to an unparalleled experience, riding through Denmark’s breathtaking countryside, which has earned the Nordic GRVL Grinder a reputation as one of the most beautiful and spectacular races in the Nordics.

In the women’s category, Danish rider Klara Sofie Skovgard claimed victory on home soil, completing the grueling course in 6h16m22s. Her compatriot, Mie Nordlund, finished just two minutes behind, with Trine Holmsgaard rounding out the podium, ensuring a top-three sweep for Denmark.

The men’s race saw a triumph for the Netherlands, as Jordan Habets crossed the finish line first with a time of 5h25m07s. Danish rider Niels Bech finished strong, winning a sprint for second place against France’s Alexys Brunel, just two minutes behind Habets. All the competitors were captivated by the region’s stunning landscapes, expressing their admiration for the privilege of racing in such a remarkable natural setting.

This was one of the last opportunities to continue climbing in the overall standings of the Gravel Earth Series. The cyclists are eager to see how their results from Denmark will influence their position in the overall ranking, which counts the two best scores of the year plus the result of the Earth Final. Beyond the Nordic GRVL Grinder challenge, the race was also a celebration of the gravel community, offering a festive atmosphere that made it a “Gravel Party” to remember.
