THE GRAVEL EARTH SERIES BREAK BARRIERS TO BECOME THE WORLD’S LEADING CIRCUIT
The project strengthens its presence on the American continent, reaffirming its international ambition
With a calendar of 25 events in 15 countries, the Gravel Earth Series invite you to discover the most captivating natural corners of the planet
They don’t acknowledge borders. Gravel Earth Series have decided to break all barriers to bring gravel to a new level of reach and impact in 2025. After two successful editions, the third one begins with the ambition of establishing the project as the main alternative for international gravel. The calendar maintains Europe’s most relevant events and incorporates the most prominent events in the Americas, with a strong presence in the United States. This new paradigm embraces the two most influential markets in global gravel, positioning Gravel Earth Series as the leading circuit worldwide. The 25 events in 15 countries selected for this new calendar have been carefully chosen to preserve the values that define the project: authenticity, community, and respect for the environment.
Gravel Earth Series arrived in America with four events, but 2025 marks the year of their consolidation, tripling this figure. With half of the calendar, a total of 12 events, taking place in the Americas, the circuit balances its presence on both sides of the Atlantic. Latin American gravel in Mexico and Chile is joined by new stops in Colombia and Costa Rica, while North America is strengthened with two events in Canada and five in the United States. Gravel Earth Series recognize the U.S. market as the birthplace of this sport and aspire to offer its community a quality, high-level option. Oregon Trail, the country’s best stage race, returns, accompanied by the iconic Gravel Worlds, the event with the largest cash prizes.
While the project expands to new continents, Europe remains the pillar that fueled the circuit’s emergence and growth. In 2025, the Gravel Earth Series calendar will retain a strong presence on the continent, with five events in Spain and one in Italy, Switzerland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. The Traka, which gathers gravel enthusiasts in Girona for a week, will continue to be Europe’s main reference, backed by other races, some of which are new additions that enhance the brand and solidify the prestige of the Gravel Earth Series. Additionally, the circuit maintains its commitment to Africa, where Migration in Kenya remains the reference event, alongside a new event in South Africa, inviting cyclists to explore unique landscapes.
The new scoring system of the Gravel Earth Series ensures fair and accessible competition for all participants. This year, the final ranking will be based on the four best scores of the season. Athletes will accumulate points in each completed challenge, following an exponential scoring system that awards 1.000 points to the first-place finisher. The most challenging, prestigious, and high-level races will offer a 10% or 20% point increase, reinforcing the circuit’s fairness. The strategic geographic distribution of events, spread across various countries, will allow participants to increase their scores without needing long-distance travel to The Last Dance.
The Last Dance is the name given by Gravel Earth Series to their season finale. Ranxo, located in the agricultural heart of Catalonia, will once again host this iconic event, which will be essential to finish to opt for cash prizes. However, its score, which will also carry a 20% increase, will only be counted if it is among each athlete’s four best scores of the year. Ranxo, scheduled for the weekend of September 27th–28th, will be the ideal closing, a dream finale bringing together all the circuit’s stars. It will be the moment to crown the top athletes of the Gravel Earth Series, which feature three independent rankings – male, female, and non-binary. Additionally, 2025 introduces age groups; categories such as Master 40, Master 50, and Master 60 will allow athletes to compete within their own age groups.
Each event of the circuit will be a unique space for the whole community to meet and connect, from the most professional athletes to the amateurs. In Gravel Earth Series, the real goal is not competition, it’s the opportunity to explore the most amazing natural scenery on the planet. The scenic value is the first condition to be part of the circuit, with a clear emphasis on the respect for the environment and the promotion of a sustainable and responsible gravel. This charter of values has guided Gravel Earth Series from day one and will continue to be the pillar for a 2025 full of adventure. Everything is ready to start the third edition. It will be on the same scenary as last year: Santa Vall. During the weekend of February 15th and 16th, the best riders on the planet will gather in the province of Girona to offer, once again, an unprecedented spectacle.
