ONE BRUTAL DAY IN COLOMBIA
Colombia has made a bold entrance into the Gravel Earth Series with the debut of Brutal Gravel Race, an event that delivered on every promise embedded in its name. Held on June 29, 2025, in Sáchica (Ricaurte), Boyacá, the race challenged riders with a demanding course of 150 kilometers and 3,100 meters of elevation gain, pushing their limits across rugged terrain, dramatic elevation profiles, and a backdrop of pure South American wilderness.
Boyacá’s landscape—defined by steep, endless climbs, remote gravel paths, and sweeping Andean views—set the stage for one of the most memorable races of the season. The spirit of the Colombian gravel scene came alive with raw passion and intensity. Riders campaigned across long, punishing climbs and thrilling descents, with both body and mind tested under the unforgiving altitude and sun.
A Fierce Men’s Field
From the very beginning, Didier Sastoque took control, riding with precision and strength to claim the victory with a time of 6:22:23, ahead of Brayan Chaves and Andrew Nivia, who completed the podium. The top 10 men displayed not only endurance but also technical mastery over an unpredictable terrain.
Bibiana Meneses Shines
In the women’s race, Bibiana Meneses stood out with a dominant performance, crossing the finish line in 8:34:06 and setting a clear standard in this first Colombian edition within the GES circuit. She was followed by Paula Andrea Rubio Albornoz, who pushed hard through the grueling conditions to claim second place.
