MEGRE GRAVEL 2025: THE HEARTBEAT OF BALTIC GRAVEL
Megre Gravel is not just a race; it’s a journey into the soul of Lithuania’s gravel culture. Held in the scenic region of Zarasai, Utena, this is where endurance, community and Baltic grit collide.
The terrain may not boast high mountains, but it demands every ounce of your strength — with 143 km of fast, honest gravel and over 1,300 meters of elevation gain. On August 2nd, riders from across Europe gathered for an unforgettable battle in the north.
Women’s Race – A True Showdown
The women had their own race, starting at 10:00 AM — no mixed fields, no drafting advantages. This was a pure competition from start to finish.
After the first kilometers in a large group, four riders emerged at the front. It didn’t take long for Sophie Wright to make her move — a bold attack that would define the day. Once she went full gas, no one could follow.
Behind her, Daiva Ragažinskienė, Nathalie Eklund and Cassia Boligo worked together, but Cassia eventually dropped off, losing contact with the podium fight. The second and third places were decided in a thrilling sprint, with Daiva narrowly edging out Nathalie.

Men’s Race – Power Moves and a Baltic Sprint
In the men’s race, a large group held together through the opening half, but pressure and pace soon created splits. As riders began to fade, it was Magnus Bak who launched a massive attack in the final third of the race.
Flying solo, Magnus charged all the way to the finish, claiming victory with an average speed of 37.88 km/h.
Behind him, Piotr Havik, Tobias Mørch Kongstad, and Tim Wollenberg battled it out for the podium. Tim lost contact just before the finish, and Piotr snatched second place in an all-out sprint against Tobias.
The event also served as the Lithuanian National Championship, making it even more meaningful for local riders.
