RANXO GRAVEL 2025: ROSA KLÖSER AND WOUT ALLEMAN RISE AS PONTS CROWNS THE NEW CHAMPIONS

After 22 events across 13 countries and 4 continents, all eyes were on Ponts, Catalonia, on Sunday, September 28. The historic farmlands and endless dirt tracks of La Noguera became the arena for the grand finale of the Gravel Earth Series 2025 – a demanding 160 km course with 1,930 meters of elevation gain that would decide who etched their names into gravel history.

Klöser’s double triumph

To be eligible for the overall standings and prize money, finishing Ranxo Gravel was mandatory. With a 20% points bonus – the highest on the calendar – the race was both a challenge and an opportunity. Four women arrived with mathematical chances: Rosa Klöser, Geerike Schreurs, Morgan Aguirre, and Karolina Migoń.

Only Klöser and Migoń had destiny in their own hands, and the German star chose not to leave anything to chance. From the opening ramps, she set a suffocating pace, quickly reducing the race to a lead trio with Aguirre and Sarah Sturm. Kilometer after kilometer, Klöser pressed on, first dropping Sturm, who nonetheless salvaged a strong third place on the day and climbed to fifth in the overall, and later Aguirre, who finished second to secure the series podium.

Klöser, however, was unstoppable. With a time of 5h29m41s, she soloed to a double crown: Ranxo Gravel victory and the Gravel Earth Series title. Behind her, Migoń and Schreurs battled for fourth, with the Polish rider taking the sprint to secure second overall, while Schreurs concluded her season in fourth place.

Alleman shines at Ranxo, Klaris rules the Series

The men’s race was no less dramatic. Four names carried genuine title hopes: Piotr Havik, Tobias Mørch Kongstad, Magnus Bak Klaris, and Peter Stetina. Only Klaris and Havik depended solely on themselves, but the list of candidates for the Ranxo win was even longer. Nobody wanted to miss the last dance of the season.

Klaris, determined to write his own story, went on the attack early with teammate Mads Würtz Schmidt. But the BUFF Megamo duo of Hans Becking and Wout Alleman quickly brought them back, forming a powerhouse quartet at the head of the race. Then came the decisive twist: Würtz Schmidt clipped Klaris’s wheel and crashed. Becking stopped to assist, sacrificing his own chances and embodying the true spirit of gravel. Würtz abandoned; Becking would finish seventh.

That left Klaris and Alleman alone to settle the fight. In a nail-biting sprint through the streets of Ponts, Wout Alleman (Buff Megamo) stopped the clock at 4h42m59s to claim the Ranxo victory. Klaris crossed the line just two seconds behind – a result that gave him enough points to be crowned 2025 Gravel Earth Series Champion. The podium was completed by Frederik Raßmann, who edged Petr Vakoč for third, with Mattia De Marchi rounding out the top five.

The final overall standings reflected consistency and class: Klaris on top, followed by Havik, Kongstad, Vakoč, and Wollenberg.

Gravel at its purest

Ranxo Gravel once again delivered the perfect conclusion to the series: a blend of racing at the highest level, community spirit, and the essence of the Catalan countryside. From the PRO battles to the Medium (108 km) and Short (68 km) distances that welcomed hundreds of enthusiasts, Ponts was the world capital of gravel for one unforgettable day.

With Klöser and Klaris crowned as champions, the Gravel Earth Series 2025 closed in spectacular fashion – proof once again that gravel is much more than competition. It is community, culture, and the spirit of discovery.
