Here, you’ll find the official rules and regulations that guide each event, ensuring a cohesive and unforgettable experience for all.
1.1. This document outlines the regulations that events must follow to be part of the Gravel Earth Series.
1.2. The guidelines ensure coherence and integrity across the circuit, while allowing each event to retain its unique identity.
1.3. Each Gravel Earth Series event must offer a unique, unforgettable experience to the international gravel community.
2.1. Mission: The Gravel Earth Series unites the world’s most genuine gravel events, preserving the essence of the sport.
2.2. Core Values: Respect for the sport, the environment, and the territory prevails over competition.
2.3. Sustainability: Events must calculate their organizational carbon footprint and participant travel emissions, offsetting through the ClimateTrade platform. These figures must be reported to the Gravel Earth Series for global compensation across all events.
2.4. Promotion of Gravel: All events should showcase the landscape and natural environment, connecting participants authentically with nature.
2.5. Course Characteristics: Routes should prioritize remote, lesser-known paths, minimizing paved roads to highlight gravel’s essence.
2.6. Cultural Value: Events must add value to their region by sharing the local story.
2.7. Inclusivity: The Gravel Earth Series promotes gender equality, offering a non-binary category alongside male and female classifications.
2.8. Bicycle Type: Any bike is allowed; participants should be informed about course conditions to choose appropriately.
3.1. Events are included after a detailed review and upon signing the contract, adhering to all stated terms.
3.2. Effective Period: The contract becomes effective upon signing and concludes at the end of the 2025 series.
3.3. Termination: The contract can be terminated by mutual agreement or if obligations are not met. Remediable breaches must be corrected within 7 days; otherwise, termination is immediate.
4.1. The Gravel Earth Series unifies all its events under a shared manifesto, creating a circuit that emphasizes gravel’s core values and authenticity.
4.2. All events within the circuit will award points to participants who complete the challenge.
4.3. The scoring system follows an exponential decrease, meaning that the point difference between participants reduces as they move up in the ranking.
4.4. The base score awards 1000 points to the 1st place finisher. From the 51st position onward, all finishers will receive 100 points.
4.5. The score for more prestigious events will increase by 10% or 20%, based on the difficulty, impact, and level of athletes at each event.
4.6. Scoring Levels:
• Base Score: Begins at 1000 points for first place, decreasing progressively.
Events with Base Score:
• +10% Score: Awards 10% more than the base, starting at 1100 points.
Events with +10% Score:
• +20% Score: Awards 20% more than the base, starting at 1200 points.
Events with +20% Score:
4.7. The final ranking of the Gravel Earth Series will be determined by summing the four highest scores achieved throughout the year.
4.8. To be part of the final ranking and be eligible for cash prizes, participants must complete a minimum of four events, including The Last Dance.
4.9. Ranxo Gravel will be the venue for The Last Dance, the final event of the season. Participants who wish to be included in the final ranking and be eligible for cash prizes must complete this challenge.
4.10. In the event of a tie, the score obtained in The Last Dance will be used as the tiebreaker.
4.11. The score for The Last Dance will also increase by 20%. However, its score will only be counted if it is one of the athlete’s four best scores of the year.
4.12. To be eligible for cash prizes, athletes must be present at The Last Dance closing ceremony.
4.13. The Gravel Earth Series will have three separate classifications:
4.14. In addition to the absolute ranking that includes all participants, each of these classifications will be filtered by age groups:
4.15. The Gravel Earth Series will award age groups deemed appropriate, depending on the number of participants.
4.16. It is important that the organization ensures that, at the time of registration, participants provide their date of birth in order to classify them by age category in the rankings.
4.17. The scoring system is being studied in detail, and the numerical values may be adjusted to meet the needs of the circuit. However, it will always adhere to the principles described in point five of this document.

5.1. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each independent category (male, female, and non-binary).
5.2. Each ranking will have €12,500 in prizes, distributed as follows:
Total: €12,500 for each category (male, female, and non-binary).
5.3. The prizes will be paid in the following currency: €.
5.4. Prizes will only be awarded in rankings with at least 50 participants, and winners must attend the closing ceremony to receive the prize.
5.5. If applicable, all awarded prizes will be subject to tax withholding.
5.6. If cash prizes exceed 300 euros, they will be subject to a 19% tax withholding on the amount exceeding this limit. The prize will be paid with the withholding applied.
6.1. Recognition: Inclusion in the Gravel Earth Series reflects association with a select group of recognized gravel events.
6.2. Use of Branding: Events must use the Gravel Earth Series logo and branding for promotion.
7.1. Brand Integration: Events must prominently display the Gravel Earth Series logo in communications.
7.2. Information Sharing: Essential information about the series should be shared through social media and participant databases.
7.3. Media Submission: Events must submit high-quality photos, videos, and promotional materials to the Gravel Earth Series team, emphasizing landscapes over athletes.
7.4. Event Details: Required event information (e.g., schedule, elevation, route, services) must be submitted to complete the series’ website.
7.5. Team Transport & Accommodation: If the Media Pack it’s booked, events must provide transportation and accommodation for the Gravel Earth Series team to ensure full event coverage.
7.6. Compliance: Full adherence to the contract and guidelines is mandatory.
8.1. Results Submission: Events must submit accurate results to be uploaded to the system.
8.2. Categories: Results must distinguish male, female, and non-binary categories.
8.3. Finisher Requirement: Only event finishers are ranked.
8.4. Timing by Segments: For events using segmented timing, final calculated results must be submitted.
8.5. Template Compliance: Events are responsible for submitting correctly formatted results using the Excel template.
8.6. Initial & Final Results: Initial results (with time, rank, name, nationality, DOB) must be provided the same day; final results are due within 7 days.
